La Saint-Valentin a longtemps été perçue comme le moment de commémorer la passion et la romance du couple. La tradition veut que les amoureux se donnent fleurs et cadeaux en guise d’amour, souligne le passage de cette journée avec un souper aux chandelles et savoure chaque moment intime au nom de l’union.

Par chance, notre perception de cette fête a évolué avec le temps. Le statut de célibataire fait maintenant partie des normes sociales de notre nouvelle génération, et bannie est la notion que le fait d’être célibataire signifie que l’on doit rester seul(e) à la maison ce soir de février. Non, il est aujourd’hui de mise pour les célibataires d’honorer cette journée avec un toast entre amis.

Les statistiques démontrent que les célibataires passent de plus en plus d’heures au travail, allouant que très peu de temps à leurs relations sociales. Pour certains, c’est un choix professionnel mais pour plusieurs, c’est la conséquence de la réalité financière que cette situation implique. Chez Phillips Lounge, nous croyons qu’il est grand temps de briser cette routine, de délaisser le portable si ce n’est que pour quelques heures, et de se rassembler pour déguster une boisson enivrante dans une atmosphère festive et un décor ultra moderne. In October, Phillips Lounge had the privilege to help organize the launch of the website Net à la Mode. Marie-Pier Delisle says she chose our venue for its warm yet trendy ambiance and its welcoming staff. “We heard about Phillips Lounge through Marjorie’s Closet last August. She had described the restaurant as a well-hidden secret and that is exactly what I experienced when I first visited the place.”

Le Réseau ESG UQAM, the association of graduates for l’École des sciences de la gestion de l’UQAM, also selected Phillips Lounge, twice no less!, this fall for its Apéro des diplômés event. “Why did we choose Phillips Lounge? After an exhausting search, we found that Phillips Lounge provided the best quality-to-price ratio,” said event organizer Florent Turlin. “The level of service provided by the staff is golden. They make sure that the event goes off without a hitch, from beginning to end.”
